Hey, everybody, today's Mike's birthday!

Happy birthday, Mike. May all your sans mutate into new variegates.

While I'm thinking of being thankful for having such a wonderful friend, I saw a great quote today and it reminded me of all of you.
Maybe it's appropriate since Mike had the forethought to be born in November. j

“Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful.”

Mike what all did you do for your birthday, I heard rockets go off, and I went to my meeting, and invited the whole group to join us, and the Haworthia group in your honor of course, and actually someone brought a San to show at the meeting, but it didn't do you justice. Norma

Good for you, Norma! Yes, I am 65 today.
I asked "How many years do you have", which is Spanish for how old
are you. 'Entiendeme' is - do you understand me? Then I asked you to
write your age in Yiddish. OK, enough with the espanol. Thank you
Norma and everyone who sent birthday wishes by thought or word!
I saw all my kids and grandkids today at different times today (thats
to lessen the chances of calling anyone by a wrong name) and my
favorite DIL made my favorite cake and brought it over for dessert.
For my present to myself, I took my new prescription card down to the
pharmacy to register myself in their computer. Anyone else here know
what I mean? Haha!

Dale
YES. and despite how i cannot PLAY this instrument i can triple
tongue, because it is something one does on the recorder...the
musical instrument the recorder. in fact, today i listened to a
billion versions of piano virtuosi playing flight of the bumblebee,
and then a pianist i adore Walter Gieseking on YouTube, is KILLER.

Roger got into bed and rolled around in the sheets and said,
remarkable, wiping his eyes.

Very nice, Hermine. The piano is my favorite instrument despite the fact I was forced to endure 6 years of lessons as a boy. Or maybe that's why I like it. I can't say I have favorite pianists who play classical music, because if they're good (and all recorded artists I've heard are very good) - they play the music as written and so if one enjoys the experience, the credit should probably go to the composer. Having said that, I do enjoy Glenn Gould's recordings of J.S. Bach's fugues.

Glenn Gould is very hot, yes. Currently i am enamoured of Lang Lang.
I guess my all time favourite of the past century is Artur
Rubinstein. i have no significant keyboard chops, but my mom was an
actual piano prodigy.

not all prodigies grow into career musicians, but i realize now she
was also very hot.

Happy Birthday, Mike! I celebrated your birthday by taking a nice long bike
ride on a beautiful trail. After dinner, the celebration will continue with a
good long soak in the hot tub, and maybe a little wine. ;-)

Hope you enjoyed the celebration as much as I did. :-)

Mike spent the whole day doing favors for his kids and their kids.
He was so busy he didn't sit down except to answer us that night.
I'm convinced that age is a state of mind. Mike and Norma are in
better shape than me, and I'm in the best shape of my life.
Thanks all of you for helping me wish Mike a happy birthday. You guys rock!
joe
and i am also at my most glamorous. I had no idea this would happen!

I was humbled by the outpouring of birthday wishes from everyone! I
also heard from the Beatles, a squeaky trumpet player. some Japanese
Gushi girls, a singing macaw, and a male Jewish belly dancer. It
doesn't take much to get this group in a mood to party. The next
thing you know we'll be welcoming a new member or two!

FIVE NEW MEMBERS. yahoogroups has gotten so wonky they did not send
me the usual letter saying just hit return to admit a new member,
WHICH IN FACT NEVER WORKS, i gotta go to the list website. but this
time I got no letters to even tell me i had five people sitting out
in the cold.

I thought the male belly dancer was some kind of middle eastern
person, i did not make him for Jewish, i will go back and have
another look. belly dancing is horribly hard, by the way, and it is
an excellent exercise. in the old days they were PLUMP.

Happy Birthday, Mike! I celebrated your birthday by taking a nice
long bike ride on a beautiful trail. After dinner, the celebration
will continue with a good long soak in the hot tub, and maybe a
little wine. ;-)
Hope you enjoyed the celebration as much as I did. :-)
